My name is Sam ShivRaj.

Here's how my last name sounds:

Shiv - rhymes with "give"

Raj - rhymes with "Taj" as in Taj Mahal (Taaj, with extended "a" like "tall").

Shiva is the Hindu God of Gods, supposed to be in Himalayas. Raj is the King. So, "ShivRaj" is Shiva, the King.

BTW, many hindu names are actually names of gods. The idea is you earn the blessings of the god and "good karma" when you say such names!
